The Journey

My journey in the disability sector has been deeply personal and professionally fulfilling. As a mother of three children, two of whom have disabilities, I have lived through many of the challenges that families face when navigating the NDIS. This lived experience, combined with my professional background, has shaped my understanding of the unique needs of individuals and families in the disability community.

Throughout my career, I have worked in various roles, from a Local Area Coordinator helping families develop NDIS plans, to a Support Coordinator in Central Queensland, and eventually as a Disability Manager overseeing operations. My work with large organizations, including managing the support coordination section for Momentum Collective, gave me valuable insights into the importance of personalized, compassionate support.

Despite the success I found in these roles, I felt that there was a need for a more individualized approach to support coordination—one that truly centers on the person and their specific goals. The structured environments of larger organizations, while effective, often come with limitations that can make it difficult to offer the level of flexibility and personalized care that many families need.

This realization led me to start my own business as an independent support coordinator. By doing so, I can focus on delivering tailored support that aligns with each client's unique situation, ensuring they have the resources and guidance they need to live fulfilling lives. My goal is to work closely with clients and their families, providing the dedicated attention and expertise that can make a real difference in their NDIS journey.

My Story

As a mother of three children, two of whom have disabilities, my journey into the disability sector began with lived experience. My personal insights and challenges inspired me to help others navigate the complexities of the NDIS. I began my professional career as a Local Area Coordinator, where I worked closely with families and participants to develop tailored NDIS plans that met their unique needs.

My passion for making a difference led me to a role as a Support Coordinator with a Central Queensland-based company. It wasn't long before I moved into the position of Disability Manager, overseeing operations and ensuring that families and clients received the support they needed to thrive.

I have also had the privilege of working with large not-for-profit organizations, such as Momentum Collective, where I managed their support coordination. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to working closely with clients and their families, helping them achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

I'm always looking for opportunities to help others! Let's connect.
